The more I see the innards of this movement, the more obvious it is that it is misogyny and homophobia reframed as "progressive." I never considered myself to be any kind of genius, and I have experienced some things that make me believe that certain things not considered scientific may be real. However, the liberal elite clinging to Queer Theory as the new religion that must not be questioned make me look like the most brilliant and stoically rational mind since Mr. Spock.
Mr. Spock may be a fictional character, but since Queer Theory is a fictional premise, I figure using him as an example is fair game.
I agree. It's absolutely a Trojan Horse movement, and in terms of the irrationality and cognitive dissonance involved, it's operating exactly like a religion. Every single "progressive" cause, political party or supposed set of values is being turned on its head or corrupted by it. What's scary to me is that so many people who really seem to think they're being both more intelligent and the good guys seem completely unable to see what they're actually doing and supporting. It's mass gaslighting, using every trick in the playbook. Which makes me wonder if it's deliberate.
I also love the way they imagine by gaslighting themselves into believing this heap of irrational woo they're demonstrating "superior intellectual capabilities" in some way over the rest of us mere mortals. Because continuing to believe so fervently in something that they want to actually enforce in the real world when it's directly refuted by all the known facts and stats isn't just intellectually suspect, it fails to achieve even basic levels of intelligence.
